We have registered adults who are not on the committee and do not actually help as scoutmaster assts. But they do go on campouts with us. Why is there not another position now for “Camping Reserves” or something?
@MeganDeBisschop - unit scouter reserve is an existing position that would work I guess.
That’s exactly what our unit uses Unit Scouter Reserve for - registered, YPT, campout-qual, no actual role. I’m not aware there is another role name.
Unit College Scouter Reserve (for ages 18+).
or
Unit Scouter Reserve (for ages 21+)
Keep in mind that these groups are strictly for discussion of the technical software issues, rather than things that could be considered policy (most “why” questions on things like advancement and registration). This is probably more policy than I suspect the BSA folks want here.
From that perspective, a good place to ask about this type of thing would be your district or council professionals (DE, Registrar, SE, etc) or ask around at roundtable about what other units do. Keep in mind what your chartering org permits (or doesn’t) may not match up with other COs, so be sure to keep them in the loop as well.
