Hi! I’m the committee chair as well as a den leader. The “glitch” that was supposedly fixed is not. All my den leaders, including me, cannot approve their own children. We hit “approve” and it approves the rest of the den but not our child. As committee chair, I have access to fix that glitch and approve the other den leader’s children, but that does not help me with my child. I tried calling council and posted twice about this topic already. After trying everyone’s suggestions, my leaders and I are still unable to approve our own children for activities which is ridiculous. I’m finding it extremely frustrating not to have an answer or solution for this within the span of a month. Any help from BSA???
The work around is to use Needs Approval Report in Legacy Scoutbook until a fix is fixed and live
Any estimate on when this will be fixed? It’s adding confusion to cub scout advancement process
This is believed to be fixed - we need BSA #s of Leaders this is failing for
I had the same thing happen to me when using quick entry for advancements completed at our recent council campout for fishing and camping advancements. However, I went into my sons profile and select each adventure completed and marked approve. This has only happened when I check select all requirements instead of each . We meet weekly so I only plan to complete half the requirements for each adventure. When I mark individual requirements complete/approved it seems to go through no issue.
@JosephBarrett good info - thanks
@JosephBarrett are you sure your Leadership position was selected in the top right drop down window and not your parent position
@DonovanMcNeil. yes my leadership position was selected and not my parent profile. My son was the only one that I had to go back into to approve the others were approved automatically. It wasn’t a big deal to me. It showed up as pending items when I checked on the Roster tab. I simply went in and check approved and it went through.
Hi. This is not fixed. Who do we need to submit the BSA numbers to?
@BSATA this was fixed - that is why we need the BSA # of users who are seeing issues and exacting where/how they are seeing the issue. Is it in Unit Quick Entry? Is it in Individual Scout entry?
I appreciate what you’re saying, but people wouldn’t still be reporting this broken feature if it were fixed.
I’m unable to approve my own child in either quick entry or individual. BSA # 140303235
Thanks - the BSA# helps the DEVs figure it out by seeing it rather than guessing - the work around for now is to use SB+ to enter - but Legacy SB to approve.
Sometimes fixes cover only partial situations, but they is t realized until people try again and confirm they still see it.
SBUAC seems to want to confirm that the users have tried again after the first fix and then get further details when it has been confirmed that the particular user is still seeing the bug.
This is a great explanation. I think telling folks that the developers thought they fixed this issue is better than definitively saying it’s fixed. It’s not fixed for everyone. Reddit and this forum make it clear it’s not fixed. I’m connected to every scout in my den. I have every permission a den leader should have. I’m registered. I have YPT. The only thing I can’t do is approve my own child’s adventures. That’s all. I’m sure we’ll get it sorted and hopefully the developers can aggregate this data for all impacted.
Can users test this issue again for us please
