Permissions error with two roles: Den leader & New Member Coordinator

I have been a den leader for four years and was recently assigned the additional role of “New Member Coordinator” in Scoutbook. Since then, I have not been able to view any of my den’s Scouts’ requirements or record completed adventures.

It looks like both roles are scout book:

But when I go to “Unit Quick Entry” → “Adventures” I get a 403 "You don’t have access to this trail." Additionally, I can’t click on any of the scouts in my den.

@JustinWeber1 - what is your registered position in my.scouting.org?

@JustinWeber1 you are a NMC not a DL. You are assigned to a den in SB+. If your unit wants you to function as a DL when you are a NMC, they need to rig your permissions so you can.

A major focus of the migration to Scoutbook Plus is to have positions mirror the positions shown in My.Scouting to ensure positions were reflected accurately in both platforms. The main purpose it to honor the guidance of our charter organizations and the positions they approve. Therefore, Scoutbook Plus does not use Legacy Scoutbook positions. Registered positions are used to provide base permissions. Some additional permissions can be added by the unit, however, there are restrictions on what can be given. See the updated Scoutbook_Permissions.pdf and the Scoutbook Plus permissions video for more details. Just as permissions are now limited - so is report access - https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/scoutbook/Report-Permission-Access.pdf

Looks like I am just listed as NMC in my.scouting.

@JustinWeber1 - which will give you zero permissions in scoutbook plus

As (I think?) was noted, an individual can only hold one registered position in any given unit, except the COR who can also be CC or MC.

Depending on exactly what your unit wants you doing as NMC vs DL, there might be reasons to have you registered as one or the other. The permissions structure that Donovan mentioned allows certain levels of workarounds within the structure of the system.

Well that is an unfortunate limitation. It’s more important for me to be DL so I can see what adventures scouts need and record adventures.

@JustinWeber1 - it has long been the case that you can only hold one registered position in a unit.

Your key three can still give you permissions to edit advancement as described in other responses.
