Print individual scout advancement report

@JosephCocchiaro I have reported to the developers. It is not known when they will look at and fix if there is an issue.

As for District requiring this extra documentation, they may wish to review the Guide to Advancement and see that extra, unnecessary information is being requested of an Eagle application that is not required.

@ZacharyMcCarty Thanks for taking down the issue and having the developers followup. I’ll check with our committee this week and ask that they check other scouts’ records, but nonetheless, move on from needing this report and process the rest of the paperwork.

@VergheseAntony for what it’s worth, I also noticed an issue retrieving this new Scouting BSA record from a scout account vs a leader/parent. From a scout’s account, the result was an error and a message to report a bug. From an adult account, the option was more straightforward and the report worked (albeit with the asterisks I’m complaining about here).

@JosephCocchiaro - you may want to review the guide to advancement as well

I was just successful from my son’s account. Can you detail the steps you are taking to get to it?

@JosephCocchiaro - i tested my son’s login and the Scouts BSA Individual Advancement Record loaded without issue. I did this from a different browser than my login session. Logged in as my son in Edge while logged into my session on chrome. I suspect that you used the same browser and session cache caused the issue.

That very well could be part of the issue. I logged off mine and into his, and back when finished. The site could be hanging onto creds via the cache. Though, scoutbook has traditionally been riddled with periodic errors to begin with so you never know what is just legacy vs an artifact of the new process/report. Gotta love how they just left the old option in the list that no longer works, and added other new options that now conflict with each other. I’ll start using private browser sessions for scoutbook. Maybe that’ll help a little. Won’t help with how they’re storing data though.

@ZacharyMcCarty Update: Our chairman was able to resolve the asterisk issue by reapproving everything after second class rank. Could have been a version issue like you mentioned.

I am confused and curious about this post. I just tested and from SB+ I can pull an Advancement History report which we always use for submitting with Eagle application to allow the District to more easily verify dates of advancements, I get its not required but it does make the flow much easier. I also see Scouts BSA History Report which is the same as the Individual Advancement Report with all of the rank individual requirements showing. Unless they fixed it in the last 4 days it seems like it is there.

What do people use the Scouts BSA History Report (Individual Advancement Report) for?

@AaronStorey - folks are used to using the IAR (Individual Advancement Record) and that has been replaced with the Scouts BSA Individual Advancement Record.

@AaronStorey The Scouts BSA History Report is similar, but has additional information, such as leadership positions and dates, awards, etc.

Thank you @JenniferOlinger, that makes sense.
