Printing blue card from Scoutbook Plus

Since the cooking merit badge has been updated twice since my son started it, I tried to print off a blue card so we have something on paper to track his progress. When I tried to print the Cooking merit badge blue card on the Cooking merit badge page for him in Scoutbook Plus, the PDF generated included blue card for several other Scouts in his troop but not his.

His ID is 133324286.

@ShadPlante - are you also a leader in the unit ? If you were in scoutbook plus and the selector in the upper right was in the parent role the blue card print would most likely have caused an error pop-up. I did a test with one of our scouts from his page selected cooking, clicked print blue card, and got his and one other scout who is also working on cooking and a blank card as the sheet is for 3 cards.

I am the committee chair. I was able to get a blue card to print correctly in Scoutbook Classic.

I am also having this issue. I tried to print a blue card from Scoutbook Plus and ended up with 6 filled-in blue cards that included 5 other scouts.

For example, ID 136489832. I am logged in as my Committee Member profile.

My suggestion is to go to your troop page in Scoutbook Classic and select Print Blue Cards from the menu there. When I did that, I was able to get a blue card to print correctly.

So I understand. You are going to a Scout in SB+ > clicking a Merit badge > at top Right clicking the Blue card button (or whatever it is) > and it produces multiple blue cards and scouts?

Yes, sir. Those exact steps you mention.

Correct. When I went to my son’s profile in Scoutbook Plus, clicked on the Cooking merit badge, then clicked on the blue Print Merit Badge button; it printed blue cards for 4 Scouts, but none of them was my son.

@MaryButler1 was it also your child you went to?

I have reproduced this error and reported it.

I also found a 2nd problem, leaving the print on 8.5x11 paper unchecked still produces a PDF for printing on plain paper, not the pre-printed blue cards.

It was not my child.

Below is a screen shot of where I clicked on the blue card and I also attached a redacted PDF of what was generated for reference.

Just saw your reply! I also attached a screenshot and PDF, if that helps with the reporting.

I figured it might be a bug. Thank you all for your help.

I will use this as a workaround until they report the bug as fixed. Thank you!

I also just tried to print blue cards, where as before you would check the box next to the merit badge/scout that needed to be printed. On scoutbook plus I don’t see that option. I went to the individual scouts merit badge, clicked print and it brought up all unawarded merit badges to print. But the top par of the merit badge doesn’t print. I checked all the printer settings and its not that.

@LyneeGeorge

There are known issues with printing Blue Cards in Scoutbook Plus.

You can still print Blue Cards from Legacy Scoutbook. Either the Unit’s report menu or any MB on any Scout’s Merit Badge page.

Watch Scoutbook - Scoutbook Plus Change Log - Scouting Forums for an announcement of a fix.

Thank you for letting me know
