Printing a blue card in scoutbook plus

Hi. I had a problem printing a blue card a few weeks ago. Someone said to go to legacyscoutbook then the unit page and look for the line that says print blue cards. Click on that line. I did that then and was able to get the blue card printed for scout to take to a merit badge class. I’m trying again today to print a blue card. When I try to print a blank blue card that was signed by the sm to start it - I get an Error printing blue card message. So, I tried what I was told before to go back to legacy scoutbook and print it from there. The print blue card line is no longer there to print it. So, how can we get a blue card printed that was “started” if the MBC would rather have a physical blue card?

@BrendaKraft - what are your steps in attempting to print the blue card ?

In scoutbook plus I go to roster, click on the scout name, view all of his merit badges. click on the merit badge I need to print and then click the print blue card button at the top of that merit badge page. I have been successful in this way before. Normally it will show a pdf of the file and then I print it from there. That was for a completed merit badge though. I was able to print a couple of partial blue cards for this same scout just last week with the above method. So, it seems like it works some of the time - but not all of the time.

@BrendaKraft - i was able to replicate it. I would delete the SM signature date and try the blue card again.

but that defeats the purpose of having the scoutmaster signature to be able to start the merit badge. The scout got it digitally signed to show he had started the badge.

@BrendaKraft - the process of using a physical blue card can be the pre-printed cards from the scout shop or from scoutbook either one can be physically signed by the scoutmaster.

But it was signed digitally to start the badge. The scout should be able to print that if needed to have a physical card at a class or if the MBC wants a physical card. When the scout might need to have a physical card and if he/she has to remove the signature to start it to print and they won’t see a SM to get it physically signed when they need it then there is a problem. The print blue card button works some of the time but not all of the time. So there seems to still be a bug somewhere in the system.

@BrendaKraft - it has been report to the development team but since it is a transient issue it will be harder to trace. That is why I offered the “old” school method to provide a blank card and have the scout meet with the scoutmaster or their designee as the guide to advancement states.

where can i find print blue cards. i see under each scout but i have to print several scouts for camp and cant find anywhere i can print. with the OG scoutbook it was simple but not anymore. sorry to add to this post as i cant even find where to start a new questions. why did they change this and make it so hard to use and DO NOT listen to volunteers***.***

First, make sure you have your Troop Committee Chair position selected. Go to Roster → Advancements. Print Blue Cards is on that page.

there is no print blue card option. please send me a link on how to print or if there is a way to get back into legacy SB? it shows the option to get into the old SB that used to work but all of the reports are no longer there? why remove something that is helpful and force people to use something else?

I dont have a ton of time to waste and camp is next week please send clear instructions with screen shots on how to print blue card for the entire troop not one by one where i have to waste paper. the cars come 3 to a sheet so printing one by one doesnt help.

Someone mentioned you in a post.

@MikeThimme - it is here

You would need to get the merit badges started for each scout
