Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I posted this about 6 months ago and was told it is being worked on, does anyone know of any updates?
I have a Scout who is trying to earn second class, but was somehow started on the 2016 version. I can’t enter rank requirements because he joined after the expiration of the 2016 version. When I try to switch to the 2022 version I get an error message. (Member ID 14446622)
I have a scout who has achieved 1st Class rank. HOWEVER, his 2nd class rank in Scoutbook did not convert correctly. It should be the NEW/Active version, but it is somehow stuck as the legacy version. We’ve kept record of appropriate dates and tried to back out the 2nd class so we can switch versions, but it doesn’t work. Even when we try to let it be so to speak, it won’t let us mark the rank as “Awarded” because it’s after the version date. Scout ID is: 134718996.
@HelenFrasier Rank version for that does not matter - just award the old version and move on. But if you want to correct - you can clear the old rank complete date and unapprove, and then change versions. But the version is not relevant for advancement in general, it is earning the rank.
Hi @DonovanMcNeil,
Thanks for the input. Normally, I’d agree and let it go. However, I need to resolve it because it won’t move the 2nd class to “Awarded,” and it keeps showing up on all of our reports, even though the 1st class rank has been awarded. I’ve tried to back out everything, but it still doesn’t work. Is there a helpdesk I can call?
Unfortunately not. National did away with all non-staff-facing support several years ago. The options are whatever the SUAC volunteers can help with here or working with council to get it resolved (either by the local council or with the council professional staff submitting a bug report/MemberCare ticket to national).
@DonovanMcNeil, I would be ever-so-grateful if we could arrange a screenshare to take a look. I have pretty open availability April 1-3. I’m on the West Coast, observing DST. Our troop has a Court of Honor in the evening on 4/1, so it’s a perfect opportunity to show you what’s happening in Scoutbook. Many thanks in advance!
@HelenFrasier I will send you a direct message > look at top right Avatar to find it > it will be a green envelope > it will be a private message channel with select members of the Scoutbook User Advisory Council (SUAC)
