Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I got a renewal notice email for my son on September 3rd, immediately logged in to my.scouting, updated the credit card on file, and submitted the renewal.
When I log in to scoutbook plus I get a pop up that tells me my son’s membership is going to expire on 10/31/2024, instructing me to click the link to renew it. When I click the link I’m taken to my.scouting and this is what I see:
Under My Memberships, my son’s membership expiration still shows as 10/31/2024:
If I click on My Renewals it says the membership is good through 10/31/2025 and that the renewal is “complete:”
This is very confusing. Can you confirm whether my son’s membership is renewed or not? If it isn’t renewed, what can I do to fix this? I see no button other than updating the credit card on file…
Thanks so much! Hopefully you can get that pop up error sorted out. As a side note, it would be great if the My.Scouting membership and renewal pages both showed the same expiration date after renewal is complete. It might prevent a lot of confusion since I bet many people probably won’t click over to the renewal tab (it’s not very intuitive). Once renewed, good UX would expect the My Memberships page to confirm the renewed expiration date.
