I’m able to enter advancement comments and they save. Next to the requirement the notepad icon appears. When you click it though, it doesn’t open the comment, it just brings you back to your Dashboard, not even the scouts advancement home. It’s more like an undesireable Hyperspace button, where’m I going to end up today.
If you click on the checkbox next to the requirement (or sub-requirement), you should be able to get to the Notepad & Comments.
This is a known issue that is in the backlog to fix. As Jennifer says, click on the completion check box instead of the note icon.
