SB Legacy Roles

We have a medium size Troop, about 70.

Our SM had the brilliant idea to impliment Patrol ASM’s to load balance and better serve the Scouts.

The Scouts love this!

However, we are finding need for the Patrol ASM’s to edit calendar events and activities.

What leadership positions other than ASM do they need to be assigned in SB Legacy?

Thank you for your help and all of your har work. You guys have made the migration easier for us.

John

Historically, I believe that Patrol Admin allowed editing the patrol calendars and logs for the scouts assigned to that patrol in classic Scoutbook (and in SB+ after they were migrated). I’ve heard mixed reviews about whether that still works or not. They won’t be able to edit the troop-wide calendar with just the Patrol Admin role, though, so it depends on which calendar y’all keep the patrol events on.

We would need to give them access to the Troop Calendar and Activities.

Thanks!

If you give Unit Admin - that also means they have Full Control over every Scout

Similarly, Patrol Admin gives Full Control over all scouts in that patrol.

I was wondering if giving them Committee Secretary or Outdoors\Activities Chair would do the trick.

Also, do those roles require Committee Member for the system to acknoledge them?

Thank you and very grateful for the help.

What is in Legacy does not fully equate to SB+ - is the situation we are in right now - until the SB+ “connection” system rolls out

Sorry, I know i am asking for a band aid until the migrationis completed.

I do know that the access levels will be more granular and robust in SB+, from another post.

But I am trying to put together procedures\”How To’s” for the ASM’s to get them more involved in using SB overall.

Thanks.
