Schedule email with upcoming events and group emails

Many Scout unit management solutions include an automated email newsletter as a common feature. This could be implemented by leveraging the legacy “Send Message” function, which allows inserting upcoming events (1m, 2m, 3m, 6m, 12m) from a selected calendar.

Currently, Scoutbook Plus lacks most “Send Message” features, aside from notifications tied to calendar events. Expanding these options to include selecting groups, Leaders, Parents, or Youth Members—similar to the legacy system—would greatly enhance communication.

Migrating the messaging capabilities to Scoutbook Plus is in the development backlog. Until the migration is complete, no new functions will be added. There have been previous request to produce some type of “newsletter” but I do not know if or when Scouting America IT will schedule this for development.
