All the information I can find points to the information in the above link, but the extended profile tells everyone to go to the profile. When a parent enters their child’s email in their profile, it doesn’t trigger an email to set up an account. How does a Scout now get Scout profiles?
@SarahBlaesing many councils put parents emails in scout accounts breaking this process - they can follow this pdf to do it

The scout is registered but need access to their scoutbook account. What you sent is for myscouting.org not specifically to scoutbook. Is there specifically info for scoutbook so their is so confusion between to the twos and parents.
Once they establish this log-in they can use it for Scoutbook and all BSA systems
I’ll ask them to try it. How does this get the scout to setup their email so they can receive communications from Scoutbook. It seems like only have the steps are here.
What do they do after they claim their account?
It depends on a few things - but once they can log in they can edit their profile to change / apply an email
