Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
In trying to add a Scout to a patrol, I seem to have changed the Scouts status so that i can no longer see him on the Troop roster.
I was trying to print out an Individual Advancment report, which didn’t show his Positions of responsibility, so I tried to enter his Leadership positions (Patrol leader), and in doing so got an error message telling me I needed to add the scout to a patrol before I could assign him as “Patrol Leader”.
I tried entering a patrol for the scout, and somehow now he’s disappeared!
He’s a Life scout, BSA number: 130621897
I can still see his name in Scoutbook Plus, but something is still wrong becauase I can’t print a BSA Individual history for him, but I can for others.
@ERICHUANG I have requested a position sync. The Scout should be back on your roster in Scoutbook (legacy) within 24 hours.
In Scoutbook, Patrol Leaders have to be assigned to patrols. So, assign the Scout to a patrol, and then add the Patrol Leader leadership position for that patrol.
Note that the best way to assign a scout to a patrol (or to transfer between patrols) is to go to the receiving patrol at the bottom of the patrol roster and select “Reassign Scouts”. You have to be a unit admin or otherwise have a connection to the scout in question (I believe) to do this.
