Scoutbook and messages. is there a checklist for parents?

we got a lot of scouts that arent receiving emails via scoutbook.

is there a checklist (in PDF format) for parents or leaders to go through and check?

i’d rather enable the parents than have leaders wast their time helping individual scouts get on scoutbook

@MohamedArafa There are some Clues.

  1. In Legacy Scoutbook - under Messages area - if a scout is listed under the Scout area on the far right they can receive messages.
  2. If under the Scouts Profile, they have an email - they might be able to receive messages.

Parents and Scouts can use the attached PDF to set up a log in for the Scout. Then the Scout can log into Legacy Scoutbook (scoutbook.scouting.org) and that SHOULD enable them to get Messages through Scoutbook.

was hoping for something more comprehensive like this ( a list i compiled from experience and am looking for more)

possible scoutbook issues (in order)

  • scout does not have an account
  • scout has never logged into scoutbook legacy account
  • scout hasnt set email in their profile for scoutbook
  • email went to junk/spam

@MohamedArafa - there is no check list that i recall. There is just the help section. The real issue is that units use or DONT use scoutbook in any number of ways and to the extent that they desire to. There is no universal use of the system.
