Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
Scoutbook has always been slow, but it seems increasingly slower. Is it possible to invest some time into some technical debt cleanup and perform some query optimization or perhaps some caching to enhance the Scoutbook experience? Maybe there is a missing index on a field or something simple that could make a lot of people’s Scoutbook experience way better?
As more and more data gets loaded into the platform this will continue to manifest itself.
The developers are optimizing queries and keeping an eye on the DB. There is already significant caching but unfortunately, too much caching causes uses to think updates did not stick.
The developers are aware of the performance issues and are working to make things better. As more functions are migrated from legacy Scoutbook to Scoutbook Plus we should see additional performance improvements because inefficiencies caused by needing to keep both platforms running advancement will be eliminated.
