Accept new families from Be a Scout
I do not have access to see what permission setting are in SB+ and I can not find anything when searching the web. I need to give recomendations to my Comittee Chair on what to set these permissions to for those roles.
Can you please tell me what access level the above roles should be given and how to do it.
All of that is still through Legacy Connections now - so you can set that up there. It can be handled by admin in Legacy > Roster > Connections Manager
@JohnSagami - some things to consider with the Be A Scout process are that Youth can be set to auto accept but adult applications will need to be approved by the Charter Org Rep.
We are all set in Legacy and operational in regards to access level\security rights.
My concern is the future. What is the map for the future when the conversion to SB+ is complete?
I was prompted to ask because I discovered that the access levels\security rights are not currently a one to one relationship between SB Legacy and SB+.
This became very apparent when I logged in, wearing my advancement chair hat, directly to SB+ to update a Scout’s OA data, I had no access.
However, when I loged into SB Legacy and clicked on the Scout’s profile, I was transfered to SB+ and had access to make the changes.
So it appears the rights from Legacy traveled (token"?) with me BUT when I log into SB+ directly the SB Legacy Token is unknown. (Should be a simple fix if we intend to run parallel systems for a while but not worth the investmet if the conversion completion is soon.
Since my Troop is changing our processes to revolve around SB+, I want to make sure we are set in the future so there are no surprises for the adult leader behind me that takes the Scoutbook Admin role.
If that it is unknown at the moment and we will have to wait and see, that is fine too. I just want to close the loop on my report to the Comm Chair and transition documents.
Thanks all, I really appreciate all of your help, your dedication to adult leaders and Scouting!!!
All we can say at this moment is when the permissions system is fully implemented in Scoutbook Plus units will have more control over what each leader can do, not less.
We are not able to provide details at this time because we have not been authorized by Scouting America IT to do so.
