Second parent link in scoutbook

@CraigStachewicz,

It depends a bit on what their various roles are. Parents who are also registered scouters should use the same credentials they use to log in to my.scouting (e.g. to take training) for login to SB+ (advancements.scouting).

For those who have never intentionally1 set up an account these are the recommended instructions for creating (or locating an existing) Member ID.

1Note that parents whose information was included on the new scout application already have a Member ID assigned, and they will want to try to match with an existing account (which should already be connected to their scout’s account as a parent/guardian connection.

An already connected parent or the unit Key 3 (SM/CM/Skipper/Advisor) and Key 3 Delegates can connect a second parent/guardian to the scout’s account by going to the scout’s profile in SB+ and clicking on plus sign under the relationships list just below the scout’s name:

Note that adults can not add themselves as a parent/guardian. The process should not be attempted via classic Scoutbook (the way it used to be done) as it no longer performs that function. In the worst case, the council registrar should be able to assist with connecting parents to their scouts.
