Simple email formatting is not WYSIWYG

This evening I spent over an hour drafting and formatting an email announcement with several links for information and sign up for camping. I don’t like how the email system works, but I worked within it and had everything legible and understandable. I checked all my links and they worked.

When I sent the email, ALL of the carriage returns were removed! It turned a reasonable length, understandable email into one long and hard to decipher paragraph. Worse still, all of the links were merged with text from the next line and thus rendered inoperable. It was one big stinking pile of dog poo that I signed my name to. I rushed to send out a replacement, with even simpler formatting and extra spacing, and this time about 70% of the carriage returns were removed. At least the links worked right this time.

Why can’t we get something that works? I suspect this post will be locked and scuffled away, but could someone from national take this question seriously. Years of promises and it is still one of my biggest frustrations with the entire program.

This is my last straw with scoutbook. I will be abandoning it for everything except the most necessary functions. I have wanted it to be the central organizing tool for my troop, but over the three years I have been scoutmaster, it has continued to get worse and more unreliable. I am willing to put up with some difficulties, but i will not accept the being embarrassed by what should be a simple tool.

Sounds like this might be a similar issue to what was reported here, since I assume the email and calendar invite editors are functionally the same:

@KyleKennedy - did you do any copy/paste in your email ? I did a test email just using the format tools and here are my results:
