We are getting the following message when trying to send an email to the group through Scoutbook Plus:
“You have encountered a problem with this feature. Please clear your cache and try again. If this does not resolve your issue, please contact your council.”
Cleared the cache multiple times, and then cleared the history. Still get same message.
If the new messaging function does not work please restore the Legacy system.
Hi @WillBeatty - I got the same error message too. It happens to me when I copy/paste text from another document into the Message box. I got around the problem by:
-
In the blank message box, type some gibberish, hit return
-
Copy/paste the content I want into the Message box
-
Delete the gibberish
There seem to be several bugs in the SB+ messaging interface.
This might be related to the one shown here, which impacts either links, attachments, or a mix of links and attachments:

There’s also some sort of issue related to “special characters” and the calendar. It’s not clear whether those are totally unrelated, or if the same underlying formatting/interpreting library is being used in both cases:

That appears to work! Thank you so much for the advice,
YIS,
Will
If I might ask, where are you copying from that this method is working for you and not removing all of your formatting once the email is sent. My weekly announcement emails are being sent and all formatting after the first carriage return disappears. The email is one giant block of sentences with even some of the spaces removed between sentences. I am quite frustrated. I would like to not have to reinvent the wheel by retyping all upcoming events every week. Thank you.
I was copying from Apple’s Mac OS Mail app into Internet advancement’s mail.
I dont know how this works, but this just plain works.
I am copying from a Google Docs doc on a Windows PC. I write up everything, Select All, then paste into the Scoutbook Plus box.
HOWEVER, for some reason I need to manually type into the Scoutbook Plus message box first, THEN paste, because if I paste right away, I get an error.
@ShirleyHou - that is likely due to format conflicts between docs and the built in formatting of the message system.
