Trying to add Service Project in IA

Something is up. I agree.

I fired up Chrome since I normally use the new Edge. I get those 2 errors at the top and can’t select a location. I am the Scoutmaster and have entered service hours before.

@Matt.Johnson does it work with Edge? Just trying to find some commonalities.

I am using Windows 10 with the Google Chrome browser.

No, here are some shots in Edge. I even fired it up in incognito. It “stops me” when I try to select or type a location. I confirmed I am using my “scoutmaster” profile in the upper right.

Note: Switching to the “Parent / Guardian” environment generates the same greyed out mandatory fields for “Category” and “Collaborative Organizations” and also results in the inability to create a personalized service activity. According to the training/instructions, parents should be able to create personalized service activities: 2min:33sec How Do I Record a Unit Activity Using Internet Advancement (IA) - Scoutbook Knowledge Base

I turned on the debugging console in FireFox, here’s what scrolled by after hitting the “+” button to add an Activity. Hopefully this helps you determine a fix.

Mind you, problem not on this end. I’ve tried clearing cookies etc, same results.

Thanks all, this, too, has been passed along to the developers.

I have the Unit Advancement Chair role for 5 units. I was able to use my phone to enter service hours on 10/10. The category and collaborative orgs dropdowns are greyed out on both my phone (android) and desktop as well.

This is a known issue. The developers have been notified.

Any update to report? Has this been a known issue for a while or is this a recent problem?

All updates on bugs that get fixed are added to the Scoutbook change log. Changes, unless emergency, are often only done once per week on Wednesday evenings.

Internet Advancement has a separate change log:

I was able to get it to work this morning. Monday morning I let my council know about the problem, as of Thursday I couldn’t get the info to enter in and honestly kinda gave up - using the time to work on recharter stuff instead. If I wasn’t in Scoutbook and IA for another issue today I might not have tried. Glad it’s working now though.
