Why can't NOVA Counselors and Super NOVA Mentors connect to scouts the same way as Merit Badge Counselors?

Continuing the discussion from Make Nova Awards sign-offs like Merit Badges in Scoutbook:

I found 2 posts, one from 2019 and one from 2020 asking this same question, but I can’t find anything newer. Is this functionality still a feature that is being worked on? The current system for linking a MBC to a Scout and the ability to sign off is great, but this same functionality is needed for the NOVA Awards.

That is in the backlog and on hold to say the least as I see it - NOVA is no longer a national level award and it is rather murky on its future path.
