Why does Pack retention number not recognize AOL crossovers?

Our pack (332, Seneca Waterways Council) had 28 Cubs in March, 2024. Of those, 11 were AOLs who crossed over to troops last Spring and 4 others did not continue this year, so 13 were still registered with us in March this year. In our Unit Metrics is my.Scouting, our retention rate is listed as 46.4%, which looks terrible. It appears that was calculated as 13/28. But AOL crossovers are retained in Scouting, just not in our pack. Please change the formula to either include the AOL crossovers as retained (so we’d have 24/28 = 85.7%), or exclude AOLs from the calculation completely (so we’d have 13/17 = 76.5%). Either way would give a much clearer measure of pack success in retention, and not discourage the Cub leaders who we also desperately need to retain.

@PeterCollinge - there is nobody on these forums save for volunteers. You should raise the issue to your council who can raise a ticket to national

Thank you for the suggestion, Stephen. I will try to raise this suggestion through our council as well. I raised it here because it has to do with the technical calculation of retention; I’m not sure if the system is working as intended or not.

I imagine it is correct - with a pack numbers like that will never be accurate depending on the time of year you look
