I’m the Commitee Chairman trying to get all my leaders trained prior to recharter, which is coming up. Two adult leaders show Y01-50%, which to me means they’ve completed 1 of the 2 required modules for Youth Protection Training. BUT when I look at our unit’s records it shows complete, it shows a it completed on their Scoutbook Plus profiles, and I have certificates with completion dates a ways in the future. For one, the certificate shows a completion date of Nov 2024 and an expiration in May 2026, which makes no sense. For the other, it shows a completion date of Nov 2025 with an expiration of Nov 2026, which does make since since our state requires yearly instead of every other year.
Can someone please tell me what is going on?
BSA numbers are

@JenniferCrandall - the May 2026 is the deadline month for the old YPT leaders to complete the new SYT. Additionally national is requiring an annual refresher on SYT so it not tied to jurisdiction requirements.

Got it. So that explains one, but not the other…
In CA it has always been required every year so I’ve never paid much attention to the expirations on the certificates before as they never mattered for us. But glad to know that now I can actually use them now.
@JenniferCrandall- what do you mean it explains one but not the other. I have no clue what you are even stating. And in January 2022 the youth protection requirement was set in motion by AB 506. PA has something similar with the Sandusky law… so no doubt CA enacted similar post conviction and modification done in 2022
@JenniferCrandall 141654157 is done with new course - the other is not
So why is it showing both still at 50% on the my.scouting.org website?
There are two adult members, both with the same issue. Your answer explained one person’s: they haven’t finished the new program and the expiration date on their certificate is the deadline for everyone to get the new SYT done.
It does not explain the other adult who completed their SYT as evidenced by the certificate I can see on scoutbook, but my.scouting.org is showing them as only having completed 50%.
That’s what I meant by your answer explains one but not the other: there are two different people.
@JenniferCrandall - well my.scouting.org is the official training repository
@JenniferCrandall you need to just talk to your councils training chair I would suggest

@JenniferCrandall Just to clarify, you are looking at the Trained Leaders Report in the Training Manager at my.Scouting, and you see these 2 leaders who show as 50% under mandatory training?
For Den Leaders and Assistant Den Leaders, there are 2 courses that show up on the report as “mandatory”: Safeguarding Youth Training and Hazardous Weather Training (SCO_800). All direct contact leaders are required to complete Hazardous Weather Training to be considered “trained” in their position. Hazardous Weather Training is valid for two years.
Both of your leaders have never taken Hazardous Weather Training, so they have completed 50% of the “mandatory” training.
