Accidentally created a new duplicate scout after transferring him into the troop, don't seem to have permissions to remove the duplicate or merge it?

I accidentally created a new, duplicate scout after transferring him into the troop, and I don’t seem to have permissions to remove the duplicate or merge it to get rid of the second listing? Any suggestions?
