Using the activity log entry system in scoutbook plus, it looks like the entry is always marked as a group (unit) activity. However, there are some activities that show they are type “individual”. How do those get created? And can we change between the two types. I can’t find documentation about these and why we have the two types.
Actually I think I found how to create the individual by changing from leader role to parent role on my own child. So my question now is, can a Leader enter an “individual” entry for a scout? We let families email us about adding their “individual” activities.
Also does it matter if it is marked as group or individual anymore?
The individual is entered by the scout or scout’s parent. It is an activity that the unit didn’t participate in (e.g. camping at a non-unit Scouting America event, service hours not worked with the unit, etc).
There is no distinction, per se, between the two types aside from the nomenclature that I have seen. There might be a reason to track them separately, but I don’t know of one off hand.
@EmilyRepperger - are you talking about this icon?
If you hover over the icon it will say Unit Hosted Activity and usually indicates that the unit entered it for multiple participants.
yes - a leader can enter an activity(s) for scouts. That entry would be auto approved in contrast to scout entered which is put in that approval queue.
