The approval is what is supposed to prevent double logging.
Not sure why it worked for you. Only difference is ours was a multi-unit event doe our linked troops. Added nights for each unit underneath the main event (as we always do).
@ErikHix- try this
Make an event in the past and calling it test nylt
Select the units
Do not select invitees
Save the event then go back to edit and add the camping and hiking for the respective scouts and save
See if the entries hit the logs
Delete the event if it works
OK @ErikHix I see where you are confused.
There is Calendar - that is for Unit Events and there has to be 2 Unit Registered adults to save an event. So you cannot make a District Camporee and put in no Unit Adults, it will not let you save.
Then there is Activity Logs. There you can go and make a Camping log for just one scout and it will save no issue.
You cannot get around how the calendar works, but you can enter the Log separate from the calendar
@DonovanMcNeil- yes that is correct if you start with invitees and its only scouts. If you make an event without invitees either scouts or adults you can add the attached logs post event.
@ErikHix I do see what you might be saying - let me take a look
@DonovanMcNeil- try my method and see if that works.
I tested this it allows you to save the logs and even the event saves with just youth
