Adding event type options such as "parent meeting, ASM meeting, Merit Badge classes." How can that be done?

How can a Troop or Pack add types of events to calendar the adults in their unit can see?
Such as-

  • Troop Activity / Event
  • Leaders Meeting
  • District / Council Activity / Event

These is no support in either the Scoutbook calendar or the IA2 calendar (which will eventually be replacing it) for custom meeting types. Generally, I use the “Other” category and invite whomever is appropriate. I then duplicate the event (using the Feature Assistant Extension in Scoutbook or, in theory, the copy event functionality in IA2) to get the same invitee list.
