Bug Fixes
- Citizenship in Society Merit Badge
- Requirement 9 requires 3 or more of the 5 options to be completed. Scoutbook was not marking Requirement 9 complete until all 5 options were completed. Requirement 9 has been fixed so it will be marked complete when only 3 options are complete.
- Star and Life Rank
- An issue that caused Scoutbook to assign the wrong Merit Badges to Star and Life ranks has been fixed. Scoutbook will assign Merit Badges based on the completion date of the badge, not the audit data containing the date the badge was marked complete.
New Features
- Eagle Rank
- The Citizenship in Society Merit Badge is now reflected as a required Merit Badge for Eagle Rank version 2022.
- Membership
- When a Scout’s membership in a unit is ended via the Scoutbook User Interface, a comment will be added indicating who made the change.
- A yellow warning icon will be displayed on the unit roster if the member is not on the official unit roster at my.scouting.org.
- PayPal
- The following note has been added to the PayPal instructions:
PayPal can be used to accept unit payments. PayPal account instructions are available here:
PayPal Payment Utility - SB Unit Admin Guide (SB) - Scoutbook Knowledge Base
As of January 1, 2022, the IRS introduced new reporting requirements for payments received for goods and services, lowering the threshold to $600. Third party settlement organizations, such as PayPal and Venmo, will be required to provide customers with a 1099-K form if they receive $600 or more in goods and services transactions during the 2022 tax year. Charter Organization Units and Council Registered Units utilizing PayPal or Venmo should ensure they are using appropriate EINs and following all policies and procedures. Parents of/Groups of Citizens Units should consult their own tax advisors.
