Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
Each time I setup a new Pack meeting, Scoutbook will not send out an “ASAP” reminder.
How do I get the “ASAP” reminder to work when its selected? It currently will not send out an email reminder to our pack. It used to work and stopped working recently.
When you say it doesn’t send it out, does it show that it was sent, but you don’t receive it?
Are you sure it “isn’t just you”, but no one receives it?
Do you receive reminders that are set specific times before the event?
Side question on why so many RSVP’s. I set up all of our reminders for our pack. Only about 1% are RSVPs. So, I understand they are needed, but why do you use it every time?
Thank you for the questions. I have asked multiple people to confirm if they have received the email and no one is receiving them. The reason for the RSVP is so that I can coordinate the activity and understand how many supplies I will need. Also for this event I need to book a location depending on the size of the group so it’s important to have the RSVP. I appreciate any ideas on how to fix this issue.
Sorry, I mis-worded my 3rd question, but I don’t think you answered the second.

I don’t know if it stopped sending reminders either “hours” or “days” before the event as this just happened this week. With the new Scoutbook setup there are not specific times I can pick. For sure the “ASAP” reminder is not working. As for having RSVP’s on our meetings we have multiple activities that require us to have different materials and I want to make sure I know how many scouts I have attending.
Appreciate any feedback on how to turn on the “ASAP” reminder in the new Scoutbook system.
I’m not having any trouble with setting up ASAP reminders in SB+IA (the new calendar system), although the formatting of the message – as many folks have noted – leaves something to be desired.
When you select the reminders, have you tried the pull-down menu for the timespan type? “Send ASAP” is hidden there.
Yes I have tried using the “Send ASAP” function and when I am done creating the event it does not send out the email to the pack. Also the quantity listed whenever I choose “Send ASAP” weather its my first reminder, second or third is listed as zero.
Is there a setting I need to choose to setup the “Send ASAP” function?
The old calendar did not allow you to choose a date, just a number of hours or days before the event, so that really hasn’t changed.
It seems like you are using the ASAP for all RSVPs. For me that is the exception vs. the norm. We load our calendar in advance and say “hummmm, we want to remind them the day before” so we set it to 1 day before the event. If I went in to set ASAP it would drive me crazy since none of it would be automatic.
A work around would be to set it the number of hours before that today is. Can you try setting one of these normal reminders to confirm that those are going out for you?
It is zero because it is sending it immediately - ASAP. If you want to send a reminder “in the future” you would choose days, hours, weeks etc.
For the ones you sent, does it show that it sent it? See my circled red below in the first snip - “The reminder already sent”. That shows that it sent. This view is when I am editing an event.
Below it is a “normal reminder” This will send a reminder 1 day before the event day/time. That should be your “bread and butter” of the calendar.
You can also see in my second snip circled in green the one that was sent ASAP was at an odd time. This is looking at the event without editing it. The other is going to come out 24 hours (1 day) before the event which is at 2:30. Do you see that on yours?
