Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I’ve been getting sporadic reports from parents that they have not been getting event reminder emails. When I create an event, I typically invite all scouts and all registered leaders, not parents. I thought when a scout was invited, the email automatically goes to the parent anyway.
As best I can tell, the only adults who are getting the event emails are the registered leaders. Is there a problem with that feature? Or do I need to get into the habit of inviting all adults to every event from now on?
Yes. But you’re right to ask me that question. I sometimes forget to un-check the “disable reminders” box and the “send to yes only” box. But this is not one of those times!
Good observation. In my recent examples, the parents were not getting the “ASAP” reminder, but they were still getting the “two day” reminders. The registered leaders were getting both.
I didn’t realize they are two different systems. Is that the solution to this puzzle? Stop using the ASAP? Or, if I do use the ASAP, then make sure to invite parents, too?
