Blue Card - Can not Print from Plus, and Legacy gives an error message

My son and I are trying to print one last blue card for his Eagle binder. Scoutbook Plus gives the “Can not print blue card” error. I followed the forum advice and in Scoutbook Legacy, I get this error (see depiction). This error comes when clicking the merit badge in the Advancement area of Legacy. If it helps, it seems about half of the merit badges now give this error and some allow printing where in the summer we could print all of the merit badges. Any advice is appreciated, we want to print this and submit the binder late this week or early next.

@TimothyGifford- the binder and blue cards are not a requirement for eagle. The eagle application will list the merit badges and completed dates.

We need to include the blue cards in the binder submission. My question remains on my need the get the printout. My fear is your comment will discount the printing challenge I need to get past.

@TimothyGifford- that goes against the guide to advancement. And no it does not negate the issue.

You should be able to print the blue card from Scoutbook Plus (https://advancements.scouting.org). Go to the Scout’s page, select Completed under Merit Badges. In the upper right of the page is Print Blue Card.

@Stephen_Hornak is correct. Per the Guide to Advancement, only the Eagle Application and Eagle Project Workbook are required. Is this binder a Troop requirement or Council requirement?

Thank you.
Scoutbook Plus gives this error, which is why I went to Legacy

I am pretty sure the Binder is both a Troup and Council requirement. We are going by what the leaders are telling us.

@TimothyGifford

Who’s account are you trying to print from? If it isn’t the Scout’s you may need to have a Troop Admin (key 3, key 3 delegate or Unit advancement chair) print the Blue Card.

I am using my own account. I do not see where to find my accounts permissions.

@TimothyGifford

Since you are not registered, your only access is as a parent which should work but obviously is not. Did you select your Parent role in the upper right hand corner?

Which MB are you trying to print the Blue Card for?

Your son does not currently have an account. You can go to my.scouting.org and create an account for him. Make sure you use the same name and DOB as in Scoutbook so the system can find his Member ID. After you create the account he will be able to log in to Scoutbook Plus.

@TimothyGifford

For reference, the NCAC Eagle Scout Procedure Guide can be found at https://ncacscouting.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/2025-NCAC-Eagle-Scout-Procedure-Guide-July-2025.pdf

I see no mention of a binder.

For anyone who may encounter the same chain of errors I received when trying to print a blue card, I did find a work around. Here are some screen captures and steps on how I got there, maybe that will help someone in the future
