Bug report:
Logging into either site:
- Internet Advancement
- My Scouting
shows a message that volunteers are required to upload a photo. But neither system will let me.
On both sites, I’m able to upload a simple jpeg file successfully on the Upload pop-up window, but when I click the Save button, on the profile page (not the Upload pop-up window), it returns this error message:
Posting a picture is not allowed, there is a picture already. Use PUT method instead. - personGuid: B4AD5511-5927-40F2-8916-CD2057433F63 - picture already present
I confirmed that the photo is not saved to my profile by going to another page, then returning to Profile, which doesn’t show the photo.
I’m confused by the error message, since I did not already have a photo saved in either of those sites (my… or advancements…). I’ve tried this a couple months ago and got the same error, so it’s not a one-off glitch.
Here’s where it gets really weird.
- I had an old photo in: scoutbook.scouting.org. After trying and failing to update my photo in above two sites, I wandered back to Scoutbook and that site now shows the new photo.
- After clearing my browser cache, exiting and restarting my browser, I went back to my.scouting.org, but it still doesn’t show the new photo.
- But advancements.scouting.org did show the new photo for about 5 minutes, then it went back to showing no photo!
I’ve been a programmer for 40+ years, so I’m being very specific in my language to be very clear, having filled out (and received) many bug reports before.
