Can find MB counselor in MB counselor search, but can't invite to connect to a scout

In my troop’s MB Counselor list, I can find a merit badge counselor, listed as approved for the MB of interest by council, available, YP doesn’t expire until 2024. Yet when I try to go into a scout’s advancement and invite that MB counselor, the MB counselor can’t be found - checked MB Counselor only, searching by name and email - which I copy/pasted for the search result from the MB counselor list so I’m not fat fingering anything. How do I get the scout and the MB counselor connected?
