Cannot add existing adult profile to our Pack

We’ve tried in both PC and iOS (phone and desktop) on safari and chrome.

When trying to register adult member 14736351 to our Pack (Council 033 - Pack 718), it recognizes her profile but gives an error on her name and last name saying “leading or trailing whitespaces are not allowed”. There are not spaces and the system won’t allow us to modify the name to fix any error.

@NataliaCade

What site are you trying to add this adult on? There is no registration for this member ID so if you are trying to add the individual as a leader in Scoutbook or Scoutbook Plus, she first has to complete an adult registration.

Also, she has 2 BSA member IDs. She needs to make sure she uses 14736351 when she registers. She also had 2 Scoutbook IDs which I have merged.

That would be great if you can merge them.

We were using My Scouting

And adding her as an adult. She already completed her YPT with membership number you are referring to. And we thought that’s the number we were using.

What should we do to fix the problem?

You can’t simply “add” her to your unit. She must complete an adult application, either online or paper, pay the fee and complete the Criminal Background Check.

That’s the problem. When we try to add her with her existing profile number it gives us an error saying that there are spaces in her name and last name and won’t let us fix it.

@NataliaCade

You will need to contact your Council for assistance. The my.scouting.org team only accepts bug reports from Council staff.

Thanks for trying. Can you merge her Scoutbook profiles?

I already merged the Scoutbook accounts.

One last thing. Can you check my scoutbook account? I have the feeling that mine is also double.

@NataliaCade

You do have multiple IDs but the BSA Member ID you posted belongs to your daughter.

I can fix your Scoutbook and my.scouting.org IDs. Which my.scouting.org ID do you wish to keep? One is your e-mail address, the other contains your last name but is not an e-mail address. You used the e-mail address to log in today.

I usually use my email. Please keep that one.

@NataliaCade

I have merged your accounts. Use your e-mail address to log in.

I recommend contacting your Council and having them use the Relationships tab of Registrar Tools to move your children from your BSA Member ID ending in 355 to your registered BSA Member ID ending in 967.

Your daughter with first first name starting with Ma has your e-mail address on her account. This will cause a “another user is using your e-mail message.” We can remove the e-mail address or you can change it yourself on her profile page.
