Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I have a family with 2 Scouts in the Pack. Both parents are linked correctly with their older Scout but we realized today the father never got linked to the younger child. I went into connections and did a search but it keeps saying “No record found that satisfies the search criteria”. I have his name, email address, and city/state correct.
Parent ID is: 72692
Scout not linked ID is: 12749636
The parent search is broken, and has been for a while. The easiest way to do this if the parent already exists in the unit is:
Scoutbook → My Dashboard → Administration → My Units → Unit # → Unit Roster → Connections Manager
Then scroll to the intersection of the parent and the unconnected scout. Create a View only connection there. Then, go to the scout’s Connections page, and change the connection type for the parent to Parent/Guardian. Since this can’t easily be reversed, make sure it’s the right person before you convert the connection type.
