Completed/Awarded Merit Badges Missing from Eagle Requirement 3

I have a Scout (BSA Member ID: 133451077) whose Artificial Intelligence and Public Speaking merit badges are both marked Completed and Awarded. The Individual Advancement Record correctly includes both badges. However, the Eagle Rank Requirement 3 calculation does not include them.

What I’ve already verified:

• Both badges show Completed with valid dates
• Both badges show Awarded
• The Individual Advancement Record lists both badges as completed

Even with all of that, Eagle Requirement 3 still omits them.

I’m trying to understand what could cause Scoutbook to include these badges in the Individual Advancement Record but exclude them from the Eagle rank calculation. If anyone can point out fields or data Scoutbook uses specifically for Requirement 3 that might explain this discrepancy, I’d appreciate the help.

@JamesMayled - what merit badges are listed in req 3 as the badges should post by date completed

I count 9 “optional” Merit Badges for this Scout. Eagle only requires 7 and assigns them by completion date. AI and Public Speaking are the last 2 MBs so they would not show on Eagle Requirement 3.

@JamesMayled - they will however show on eagle palms as merit badges beyond the eagle count.

I was looking at Eagle 2022, not 2026 so one of AI or Public Speaking should appear on Req 3. We will investigate further.

This has been reproduced and reported to the developers.

Note for this Scout, American Cultures is marked completed but is not leader approved. You may want to check with the Scout to see if he actually completed AC and has had it signed off by a Merit Badge Counselor.
