I want to request the ability to insert a subscription link for the ability to copy a link like https://scoutcal.com/BSA602 to insert events into the calendar without having someone sitting down for 5 hrs inserting all of them in. Like subscribing to the local quilting group into my personal calendar so I can see everyone’s in one place.
You just Subscribe to both ics files in the same app - problem solved - that is the purpose of ICS files. ICS files are not meant to feed other live calendars that have feeds.
I want to insert my council calendar via ICS file into the scoutbook calendar to appear on the calendar in scoutbook. As of now I am spending 5 hours inserting my units and council events I could cut that down by half if I have the ability to insert my council ICS file and then I only worry about my unit.
The Scoutbook calendar is not architected to subscribe to other calendars. Does your council even provide an ICS feed for its calendar?
I suspect Scouting America IT will not be receptive to this request unless Councils start asking for it as it will be a significant amount of work.
Personally, I can’t imagine cluttering up my troop calendar with all the council events that don’t impact any of the youth. For this to work, there would need to be a way to decide what to display. As Ed said, your council professionals would need to request this to get it considered.
in the meantime, the feature assistant extension allows you to imports events. Have you tried using that?
Thanks, I will check out the extension import feature.
