Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I am a Den Leader (Wolf this year) and I just entered the last required adventure for a bunch of my scouts (batch entered), which then completed their Wolf Rank. I pulled the Cub Scout History Report for my den, so that I can quickly scan to make sure I’ve entered all the electives, and I noticed that half of my den now has all of their future ranks completed - using the same date that their Wolf Rank was completed. But then other Scouts still have the blank lines for future ranks, as I assume they should be. There dosen’t seem to be a rhyme or reason why this affected some Scouts.
When I check the invidual profiles in Scoutbook Plus, they still show 0% toward the future ranks, no dates at all and is otherwise “disabled” because the Scouts aren’t yet eligible for that rank.
Attaching a couple screenshots - one that shows the future ranks all completed, and one that dosen’t.
The Scouts with all ranks errantly auto-completed are 140374022, 14783918, 14783863, 14783883, 14783888, 141200641.
The one Scout that completed Wolf that this did not happen for is my son, 14675584.
I just realized that the other 3 Scouts in my den still have an outstanding required adventure, so their Wolf isnt complete. But that provides some correlation - this seems to have affected the Scouts who are not my own child!
Ok, thank you. My only concern was that if I ignore this now, I might have trouble down the road entering those ranks for these Scouts - since I know I can’t enter future rank info, or edit past years. Didn’t want this to be locked in!
One other related question. Not a big issue, but while I am here. For the Scouts that have been with me since Lion, their Cub Scout History Report show a couple blank sections in the Lion area. In the future, when they eventually crossover, I would like to give them nice keepsakes that include their histories and would like them to be as clean as possible. I’m including a redacted version of my son’ Redacted - Cub History Report.pdf (124.7 KB)
s report.
@MichaelHilburger in that old version it is because a leader did not mark it complete for #1 (finish 5 adventures) I think. It is not relevant - the end of cubs is the end of cubs, the only thing on dates that carries on is the AOL rank as it is on the Eagle Application. The Camping/Hiking/Service Logs do have life after cubs also for various current awards
