Custom email distro lists

My unit would love to have the ability to create custom email groups. For example, if we have a high adventure trek going, we want to create a “Philmont” email group that includes only those Scouts attending and their parents, plus the appropriate leaders. A custom group would make messaging much easier, instead of having to manually select them every time you send a message. This can also be used for “ASMs”, “Committee”, “Summer Camp”, etc. (FYI we recently transitioned from SOAR, which had this feature, and we used it extensively on that platform.)

This has been previously requested and is in the backlog. We do not know if or when the BSA will schedule it for implementation.

The volunteer written and supported Feature Assistant Extension for Scoutbook for Chrome and Firefox supports custom distribution lists. See Feature Assistant - What is it? for details.

Feature Assistant Extension for Scoutbook: Groups you set up and use are ONLY available on the platform you set them up on. For
example, if you set it up or make changes on your home computer, it is NOT available on your work
computer. The groups are stored with each extension/add-on installation.

This is partially correct. The Feature Assistant Extension will allow you to export the groups from one system and import them on another so they can be shared between multiple computers or even between leaders in the unit.
