"Date Joined Scouts BSA" not showing for many scouts

I’m finding that many scouts in my troops show a blank field for “Date Joined Scouts BSA”. Shouldn’t that field be auto filled when the scout’s application is entered into scoutbook?

@JamesDenman - no that date does not auto fill. It has to be entered by the unit as it is internal to the unit to filter items done in cub scouts on reports

@TwilaLytle The reason it is not filled in automatically is date the BSA has for the start of Scouts BSA membership is almost always wrong. The BSA starts all memberships on the first of the month the Scout joins. Since very few Scouts join on the first of the month, it is better to let the unit fill the date in. This becomes even more critical for OA if the Scout camped with the pack immediately before joining the troop since Cub Scout camping does not qualify for OA.
