Den leader has full access for den but can only access and do advancement for her own child. This continues even though I have additionally made her a den administrator with full access.
If you post the BSA ID number for the den leader (no names please!), the SUAC volunteers should be able to look into it.
Asking the semi-obvious question, does the den leader show up in that registered role in the official roster at my.scouting? SB+/IA2 is a lot more reliant on the official registered roles than classic Scoutbook was.
Yes they do show up on the official roster as a den leader. We waited until we got the ok from council that they had passed the background checks before we added them into Scoutbook as a den leader.
BSA ID # 140578214
@WynnRoberts not sure what happened but the user has tons of positions let me first clean that up
@WynnRoberts OK that is cleaned up - what I would suggest is 2 steps:
- Watch the user over their shoulder, are they doing something wrong? Are they really not connected?
- If so, have Unit Admin go to Legacy Scoutbook > Unit Roster > find the user name and click > find the Den Admin position and click > click UPDATE and close - that should resolve it
It is possible that the Den Leader is logging in to the Scouting mobile app, which is an app for parents and Scouts - not leaders.
Actually I just glanced - I thought she logged in today - BUT it was a year ago today. - the Second log in is just to the Mobile App which will not work
Thanks everyone, this is very helpful. If I’m understanding this right I just have to have her log in to Scoutbook, through her computer so it will recognize her as den leader. Will the mobile app then work, a lot of the den leaders like to add requirements as they do them, at the meeting?
@WynnRoberts no the App does not work for leaders - it is Only for Parents and Scouts - Leaders can log into the Website at meeting to enter things for the whole den
There was some discussion about an offline mode for IA2/SB+. I can’t recall if that was working or not, but that might be another approach (if it is operational) and then sync once there’s 'net connectivity again.
I get it (never had the mobile app myself) she just has to log into Scoutbook each time to update the den. Thanks for the info, I’ll let her know what she has to do and we’ll see if that works. Again thanks to everyone for your help, this us a great forum!
To be clear, they can log in to the website from a mobile device. Just don’t use the app.
