There is a Scout in our troop who is dual registered with another troop. We are the main troop, but I keep getting an error message when I try to access his profile “Your position(s) and related permissions do not allow you to perform this action.” I am able to enter his advancements, camping nights etc. however, his earned merit badges aren’t coming up on the Needs Purchasing report. Is there any way to fix this?
Well the profile is a known bug - what is the scouts Member # (no names) - and what unit are you with
He has two listed (Current: 141547482; Previous: 133265941) and Unit is Troop 49B
@KarenAllen3 ok give us some time to look - can you give an example of a recent complete MB for you troop?
@KarenAllen3 and does this scout appear in SB+ (advancements.scouting.org)?
See the other Troops MID is the main on for the account (there is no way to say this one or that one is main.). So if you see him in SB+ I am very surprised, in Legacy Scoutbook ok, that makes some sense.
A Scout cannot use Scoutbook to track advancement in 2 councils with the same user. Each council has its own MID and each Scoutbook User only has 1 MID. So the Scout will really need 2 different SB users, and the units just reconcile advancement through communication.
Hi Donovan,
The Scout recently earned animation. I was able to input the data for the merit badge in scoutbook and his recent camping nights in scoutbook+. I am able to see him in both scoutbook and scoutbook+. My understanding is that he is associated with the other troop because he attended Sea Base with them.
Thank you,
Karen
Also, the other troop is a couple of states away, if there are any other options that would be super
@KarenAllen3 so the scout is not active in the other unit?
@KarenAllen3 ok I switched the MID back - all should be good over the next 24 hours
That’s super, thank you so much!
That worked, thank you so much!!
