Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
I am the CC trying to help a new den leader. She has one BSA ID linked to her child, and another BSA ID under which she has taken her position training and YPT. At this point she cannot access Scoutbook.
Old BSA ID 141414190 linked to her child
New BSA ID 141389824 linked to training and YPT, would like this to be primary number
When you say she’s “linked to her child” under one BSA ID, are you talking about in Scoutbook or at my.scouting? Fixing Scoutbook accounts can be done by some of the SUAC here. Fixing the parent/child relationship at my.scouting has to be done by council staff.
Which BSA ID is she registered under as a scouter? That’s the one that needs to survive. If the PII matches between the two BSA IDs, the parent can put them both under management at one my.scouting login using Manage Member ID, and the training will sync over. However, that doesn’t occur for relationships, which is why council needs to be involved.
@PaulCraig1 I found 3 BSA member ID numbers for this user:
141389824
141414190 - Has parent “relationship” at my.Scouting, but uses nickname
137393284 - Has a slightly different date of birth, and also a parent “relationship” to the same child, but child has a slightly different name.
Does she have a pending application as a Den Leader? She is not currently registered.
Hello, yes she does have a pending application as a leader and has completed YPT, all under the BSA ID ending in 824. The number ending in 190 was created when her son signed up, and the third number 14119344 is a zombie and not needed. no idea about 137393284.
Her training, YPT and association with her son is correct under BSA # 141389824. The other two numbers can be retired.
She signs into my.scouting using her email address. The problem we have now is when she signs into my.scouting she cannot select which BSA ID to use and she receives an error “Warning another user is using the same email address. If this unexpected contact…”
Her email address is j something k something @yahoo.com, could we get the BSA 141389824 associated with that email address and the other 2 BSA IDs removed from that email address?
I have a parent account with Duplicate Member IDs. Only one has an email attached
Nothing shows up for their scout account renewal (national) and I think maybe this is the issue?
Member 13060646 with email (I guess primary)
and Member 136767503 with no email attached
@PaulCraig1 I have merged this user’s Scoutbook accounts, and she should be all set now, although she might need to wait until tomorrow for everything to sync up.
She needs to keep BSA member ID 141414190 set as “primary”, because this is the one with her parent “relationship” to her child (at my.Scouting).
