EffectiveDt Not Valid in Permissions Manager

Trying to help my CC - we are trying to add 140914758 as Unit Support for our Troop 1855B. 3 of us have tried and we all see “EffectiveDt Not Valid” error message.

@RichardCantzler - that error is usually related to registration issues. They are fine in my.scouting.org ? If not it is a talk to the council registrar

@RichardCantzler yeah something seems off - how many Unit Support are in that unit?

@RichardCantzler if it is you taking the action - I wonder if it is because you are in renewal timeframe? can another leader try?

  1. As far as I can tell they are fine in my.scouting.org - nothing jumps out to me as being incorrect.
  2. We currently have 2 Unit Support, they would be the 3rd
  3. I already renewed, and they already renewed, and 3 different people tried all with the same error - nobody involved is pending renewal
  4. What does EffectiveDt error mean, why is it so vague, and who in Scouting America can help resolve it?
  5. Tangent - our Troop leadership are seriously frustrated by SB+ limiting number of people in roles
    1. Our Troop is MASSIVE and should really be 2 separate troops. We would split in two, but that would require MORE parents stepping up, which we’re not seeing. Since we could never find another CC, SM, etc to stand up a second Troop at this point, we are trying to double-up roles and have 2:1 or 4:2 support. E.g. we used to have 1 person on Registration, now we have 3-4. SB+ is limiting how many people we put in certain roles and its unwarranted, unkind, and making our already complicated situation more difficult.

Also - they are currently Unit Support for our 1855G Troop … but we are unable to add them as Unit Support for our 1855B Troop.

@RichardCantzler DEVS have no issue using your account to achieve this. I suggest using an incognito window or a Clear cache and try.

Thank you @DonovanMcNeil - I had previously cleared cookies and cache. I just logged in using incognito and saw person was already assigned - thank you!

Unfortunately right now with SB+ - using an Incognito window is often the way to go

As far as the number of slots a position has - that is determined by the National Registration system - not Scoutbook
