Welcome! This forum has a treasure trove of great info – Scouters helping Scouters! Just a heads up, though - all content, information, and opinions shared on this forum are those of the author, not the BSA.
We have a repeating Troop meeting event and every week we edit the event to update with announcements and activities for the specific meeting. The reminders used to work (5 days and 1 hour), but have stopped working. Some leaders/parents get them, some do not. I do not get them. I have recreated the event, but it has not helped. This is not an issue with Opt-Out. I have not opted out and I do get message if they are created outside the calendar.
If some but not all of the people are getting the reminders it is not a Scoutbook issue. Have the leaders not getting the messages check their spam or junk folders.
I am one of those leaders and use gmail. The messages are not in spam or junk. Note that we are a large troop and there are 140 invitees on that calendar event.
I found out some more. When I try to update the attendees on the repeating event, I get the following error:
user(s) not found for the given userId(s) - userId(s): 795026,1673113,1709320
With some URL editing, I was able to locate the first one who is no longer registered with our troop, but was reinserted as an ASM on Feb 1, 2025 (WHY???). I terminated his position. The other two I cannot find. So I think this is the problem, I cannot update the attendance list because of the error and I cannot fix the error.
What is the title and a date of the recurring meeting you are trying to edit? I’ll report this error to the developers but they will need to know which event to look at.
Your ASM was registered with your troop on 2/1/25 which is why he was added back to the Scoutbook roster. His registration expired yesterday so he should drop off your my.scouting.org roster within 60 days.
