Calendar events not going to all parents

Troop level: Please confirm if we have to add parents to a calendar event for them to receive the reminders IF their scout is on the invite list? We have scouts adding their emails and accounts but some parents are not receiving the reminders. We dont necessarily want to invite the parents to all events and do always want to invite all committee members.

Any communication to Scouts go to Parent in Scoutbook also

If the parent has the e-mail opt out turned on, they will not receive any e-mail from Scoutbook

ok then if a parent isn’t getting these and their emails are correct and they dont have them turned off???

gmail.com has caused issues in the past - they can check Junk email - sometimes adding +1 after name in email ($$$$$$$+1@gmai.com) fixes the issue

Is this working for other email providers? If yes, then I will work with any additional accounts that report back. Thanks

The + add on is dependent on the provider - you would have to look it up


I sent out an update for our upcoming campout yesterday. It is very intermittent on who receive the reminder and who did not. I have sent a message to the full troop through SB and all seem to have received that message. All scouts are invited to the March campout. It is weird they are not receiving all messages. I have added +1 to gmail users but it is very random who isn’t receiving. Pls advise.

Are you using Send ASAP or scheduled reminders?

I know part of the problem which isn’t a problem is some had rsvpd no thus would not get the email for the campout. I did a Send Now yesterday.
