Error during quick entry for den adventure...Now everyone is at wrong rank

My wife tried to enter a completed adventure for everyone in her AOL den. It gave an error and did not update. However, now everyone in that den (except my daughter) is showing that they earned AOL. Upon further inspection it’s under the old 2022 requirements and marked as completed, approved and awarded on 8/26/24. This part makes no sense at all to us. Now we can’t figure out how to correct this. Every time we try to uncheck and save, it says user advancement record save failed. How do we get this all fixed for this den?

I should also note that the adventure we were trying to complete is the Outdoor Adventurer. I suspect that most of the scouts in this den have likely started this pin last year under the old version. So I’m wondering if when we did the quick entry to complete it, SB+ had the old version already started and perhaps that’s what threw this whole thing off.

Could you provide the bsa member number of one of the scouts with this issue? (No names please)


All the ones that show the current rank of arrow of light are the incorrect ones.

Can you try removing requirement 1 from the old version?

This may actually be a known issue with not being able to remove approved ranks… with the added twist that the old version was marked complete.

I am having the same issue. My AOL leader was entering the info for one scout and the same thing happen. I cannot remove it or unapprove the AOL Rank. I cannot even see the different requirements to unapprove them either.

Remove it from the old version of what? It doesn’t let me edit the AOL rank in any way. In fact, most of it says “not started”



Also, if i try to unapprove “outdoor adventurer” it tells me that “rank must not be awarded to unapprove an adventure”

@JonChuchla - is it possible to clear the awarded then save, then work thru the remaining layers?

No. That results in the “advancement save error” I mentioned above.

There is a known issue where approved advancement cannot be removed from Scoutbook Plus. The developers are working on a fix. Watch the change log for an announcement that this has been fixed.

I wish I knew. Like I said earlier. All we did was quick entry to complete outdoor adventurer. Then it threw errors and that whole den was messed up.
