I accidently ended a leadership position of one of my den leaders while in Scoutbook Legacy. I was subsequently kicked back to the roster page and the leader was no longer listed on the roster (on the left side of the page). I then tried to +Add Leader at the bottom of the roster and after inputting the information to “search for existing user”, I receive this message: No record found that satisfies the search criteria. After the deletion in Legacy, they also disappeared on SB+…however, they are still on my my.scouting roster. HELP please!
@JenniferWohlgemuth- first thing is that you should not be working in classic scoutbook
Post the Scouting America Member ID (no names) of the leader and we will request a position sync.
I have my reasons for being in there ![]()
Member ID: 140394359 Thank you!
I have requested a position sync. Use the Scoutbook Plus Edit Den feature to place this leader back into her den.
She should be back in the unit after 4:00 PM Central today but it may take until tomorrow morning.
Thank you! I’ll be back if it didn’t take
Out of curiosity…is there a search tool in SB+ like the one in Legacy? Or a way to +Add Leader?
@JenniferWohlgemuth there is no longer add leader - they are either officially registered in your unit or not - if not registered they cannot be a leader in the unit
I get that…It’s just strange to me that she was still in the my.scouting roster as a leader but I couldn’t find or add her to her den in either SB+ or Legacy.
Right now the old Scoutbook User comes into play - so you being in SB Legacy - you were moving the user and that caused the issue.
This all happened right after the Permissions Manager was added to SB+
To add to what @DonovanMcNeil stated, eventually, the only method to remove a leader in Scoutbook Plus will be to set the Dropped slider to Yes indicating the leader (or Scout) does not intend on returning to the unit.
The reason she was on your my.scouting roster but not your Scoutbook roster is an action you took removed her from the unit. Once legacy Scoutbook is retired, this will not be possible except as noted above.
Only Scoutbook Plus should be used to move users between dens or make other changes to leader positions. Position Manager should not have allowed you to remove her from the unit. If you can describe what steps you took, we may be able to replicate the issue on our test system and report it to the developers.
For sure! So I was in there because in the past some of my leaders have had issues with some cubs not showing up in their den when they are signed in (even though I have them placed on the roster in the correct den). I had figured out previously that when I entered Legacy, clicked Pack Roster at the bottom which then leads me to the roster with the adults on the left and cubs on the right, clicked on the leader having the issue, clicking to edit (or really refresh) the date on their Den Admin role and saving, they would then refresh their page and be able to see all of the cubs. This day I was in there for the same reason, as my Webelos leader could no longer see his den (at all)…I figured it had something to do with the new Permissions Manager and didn’t want to mess with that so went in to do what I had always done. While there I saw that the leader I accidently deleted was still in the Webelos Den Leader role (she is now an AOL leader). I thought maybe that was also an issue so I clicked that role under her name and added an end date. Since that was the ONLY role under her name at the time, when I ended it, I was kicked back to the roster page and she was no longer on the adult leader side of the roster page.
Thank you. Fortunately that is not an issue with Permission Manager. The system is working as design and since you ended her last position, removed her from the unit.
We do not recommend using the legacy membership page for anything at this time unless directed by a member of the SUAC. There are fewer and fewer things that need to be done via Legacy Scoutbook, especially for packs.
Currently, the only item for packs to use Legacy Scoutbook is sending message to a large distribution list. We hope the issue in Scoutbook Plus messaging will be fixed soon, allowing Legacy Scoutbook messaging to be retired.
That sounds great…and I’ve noticed more and more being integrated over. I rarely use Legacy aside from this only issue
Thanks again, and I’ll message later if she hasn’t been added back within 24 hours. We are in Doha, Qatar so getting ready for bed now!
