I am a ASM for a troop. I am marked as having full control for an entire patrol, but it let me enter some advancements for 1 scout but now it will not allow me saying Error User not authorized to access this API.
Patrol with initials TB?
Yes that is the correct patrol
Thank you. I have reported this to the developers. Watch Scoutbook - Scoutbook Plus Change Log - Scouting Forums for an announcement of a fix.
This issue is not isolated to Mr. Gardner. I receive a similar error and can provide more details if you or the developers need.
Appreciate all of your help across the forum!
I have an ASM with this same issue. When he tries to update a requirement for a merit badge it gives an API error.
This error occurred for two separate scouts. It works fine for other ASM’s. We tried on both a laptop and an iPad.
Please let me know if we can help debug this issue, provide his username or ID. He is our advancement chair and is unable to sign off scouts for advancement right now.
This is a known issue.

I am a committee chair for our Pack. Any new scouts that have joined since July I get this error message in scoutbook plus. When the new scouts joined, they showed up as unassigned in scoutbook plus, so I put them in a new den. I logged back in and I can no longer see the den in scoutbook plus. I can see the Den in legacy scoutbook.
@AndrewDykes that is often a cache issue - try
a hard refresh - Shift + Reload Page
an Incognito Window
or a clear cache
Deleting cache does not work, but incognito mode does. It doesn’t fix the issue I have with not being able to see the profiles of new scouts that joined after June. Even when in incognito mode I get the error “ Your Position(s) and related permissions do not allow you to perform this action”
I am logged into my CC account. I am listed as Org CC within position manager. Every other scout that was on the roster since June, I have permission. I’ve been in the CC position for 3 years.
The profile one is a know one - watch change log for updates
I’m the SCOUTMASTER with the same issue. Has there been a resolve? We have Court of Honor soon and I would like everything to be up-to-date in Scoutbook.
Not that I have heard of yet.
I am now having this same issue! I was using the legacy platform to enter advancements, but legacy is now redirecting me to Scoutbook plus. Scoutbook plus refuses to let me update any advancements. How can I get this fixed?
I am having his same issue. I can not mark any merit badges requirements as completed or approved. The only Scout in my troop that I can mark as competed is my daughter. (yes I know I can not approve her.) I also get the error when I go into the rooster. Does not allow me to select any scout.
Why is this still an issue after 5 days? And it is as I had one of my ASMs try to enter an advancement, got the error. I have been in IT for over 30 years, and this issue would be considered a Sev1 as Scoutbook and now Plus are for tracking advancement, and you cannot enter advancements; therefore, the system is unusable. This is unacceptable.
same issue . . trying to get things marked complete for a court of honor. Please help dev team!!
We are also have this issue. Our scoutmaster can update a scout but the ASMs cannot update scouts. In permissions the scoutmaster sees all of us ASMs with full control but we are getting the ‘user not authorized to access this API’ error.
This is a known issue. The developers are working on a solution.
