Error User not authorized to access this API

Exactly!! I am having the same issue. I am ASM with full control and I can do nothing to help our scouts. Very unacceptable.

Please be more specific. We need to know what you were trying to do when you received the error.

I am trying to mark and approve individual requirements in merit badges. I also can not access the scouts through the troop roster. I have tried clearing my cashed, I tried the edge web browser and even went incognito in chrome and that did not work doing any of those things.

This is just one that I am doing. I can not mark individual requirements.

@DarlaBuckendahl so the error appears when you click SAVE for the one requirement? What is the MID of the Scout?

Yes. When I click save. It is my entire troop minus my daughter I can mark her completed, I just can not mark the other three completed or approved. Do you need all of their numbers or my troop info as I can not access any of them through the roster. I have to go through legacy to get to their advancements?

@DarlaBuckendahl does just Complete date vs Date + approved make a difference?

We have found that entering advancement is position specific and not automatically granted to every ASM. I have access as Advancement Chair and Troop Admin. Merit Badge Counselors use Scoutbook Legacy to update scouts’ records and then I can approve them in SB+. My understanding from my reading is that the Connection Manager from Scoutbook Legacy allowed Troop Admin to manipulate the access for every leader. SB+ uses position specific access.

For example: my husband is an ASM and has no access to anyone but our younger son. My elder son is a Unit College Reserve and he can see everyone’s information but gets the API error if he tries to update anything.

Nope. I still get the error.

I am having a similar issue with receiving that error. I am an SM for two different troops, recently added to the 2nd troop, and I’m receiving this error only when trying to access any of the girls profile (I have full access for all the scouts) or trying to enter advancements for the 2nd troop. I do not have this issue with my prior Cub Scout pack members or the original troop that I started as SM. This has been ongoing for about a week now.
